Task
Public Service Broadcasting is a British band known for their unique fusion of archival audio and contemporary soundscapes, earning them multiple charting albums, an Ivor Novello nomination, and headline performances at Glastonbury, BBC Proms, and Latitude. Their concept-driven music explores themes like the space race, industrial history, and global events, solidifying their reputation as one of the most innovative acts in modern music.
The goal was to capture the energy and atmosphere of the concert, focusing not only on the band’s performance but also on the intricate stage and lighting design. Every shot needed to encapsulate the essence of the event, conveying the emotion, movement, and spectacle of the live experience. The challenge was to balance wide-angle compositions that showcased the scale and intensity of the show, with intimate close-ups that highlighted the musicians’ artistry and passion.
Result
The final shots successfully captured the spirit of the performance, bringing the concert to life through a mix of dynamic angles and compelling framing. Wide-angle shots emphasised the grand scale of the event, while close-ups drew attention to the expressiveness of the musicians and the intricate stage details. The photography not only resonated with fans and the band but also gained wider recognition, with select images featured in a national newspaper both online and in print, further amplifying the impact of the work.
